Many of our clients are users of the PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) system for multilateral patent protection, a treaty which, perhaps more than any other, reflects the international character of patent law and the needs of global businesses.
This treaty, as our professional clients will know, is one of many administered by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in Geneva. Well over 100 countries have ratified the treaty.
Like all complex treaties, specialist knowledge is indispensible and we have always been able to deliver that, and indeed do so with a practical flavour as a result of real experience with the system.
The considerable expertise we feel that we have always had in this area, however, was supplemented in April 2005 when we were joined by Busso Bartels, formerly the Head of the Office of the PCT at WIPO headquarters.
